As you progress throughout the game you will encounter over 40 hostile and friendly mobs that are scattered throughout the nine maps. To help prepare you for every battle, we have detailed everything you need to know about each mob, along with some helpful tips and strategies. Here is every Mob and Enemy that you will encounter throughout your journey in Minecraft Dungeons.

Bosses

Enderman

Enderman are one of the first mini bosses that you will encounter in Minecraft Dungeons and a can be quiet difficult as the difficulty ramps up.

Before your battle begins with the Enderman, you will notice that your screen will receive some disturbance. This will indicate the beginning of the battle. As soon as an Enderman spawns, he will begin walkthrough straight for you. Be sure to move swiftly as the Enderman's large arms will mean that he can attack from a distance.

Not only will Enderman deal large amounts of damage upon contact, but they will also teleport around the area as you begin launching your attacks.

While it's important to watch your health, we found that Enderman are best attacked using Range. This allowed us to get a few extra hits in before he teleports and helps avoid taking damage.

Evoker

Despite being the main boss that you encounter during Pumpkin Pastures, the Evoker is also commonly found throughout many of the games other levels.

Summoning small groups of vexers and a line of fangs that appear across several squares, the Evoker is definitely one of the bosses that you need to keep a watchful eye on.

While most may choose to range the Evoker from afar, we found that using melee at close distances and moving frequently to avoid his fang attack that accords when he raises his hands and a yellow aura appears.

Predicting the fangs attack is a tricky, as the Evoker has three different fang rotations that including: summoning fangs in a straight line towards the player, summoning two circles of fangs around the Evoker, and summoning random fangs to spawn within the players area.

When the Evoker is going to use the Vexes attack, he will summon a purple aura around him and then spawn 4 Vexes that will target the player.

Illagers

Enchanter

Enchanters are surprisingly very weak, but only when they are by themselves. When letting Enchanters connect with other mobs, they will gain the ability to control them and essentially make the affected mobs much quicker, stronger, and more defensive.

When the Enchanter has connected with another mob, it is still best to bypass the effected mob and head straight for the Enchanter as in most situations, the mobs are significantly much more challenging to defeat.

We found that using range based weapons was a great way to reach and take out Enchanter.

Geomancer

Geomancers are a new mob that summon large exploding stone pillars. Providing just a small amount of time for escape, it's important that you do not become trapped within the pillars and that you get away from them as soon as they begin flashing.

It is worth noting that, Geomancer's are often out of sight when launching attacks. So, don't be surprised if you're surrounded by pillars but no Geomancer's are in sight.

Vindicator

Arguably one of the harder mobs to defeat in Minecraft Dungeons, the Vindicator is a fast moving, strong attacking Illager that uses an axe to deal large amounts of damage.

The Vindicator is one of the first mobs that you should always finish off first due to their shear strength.

While they can be easy to manage in small groups, as soon as you start dealing with more than three at a time, it's easy to quickly get overrun. While range attacks do work, using melee - especially weapons that can reach from a distance - will definitely be your best option for defeating them.

Armored Vindicator

Just when you thought Vindicator's were challenging, wait until you encounter the armored version. While using the same strategies as above, it is worth mentioning that sometimes running from large groups of mobs is usually your best option. As you regroup, you'll often have the ability to slowly pick them them off one by one.

Witch

Witches are found in swampy environments and will throw vials of poison in your direction when you get too close. It's best to avoid these vials, as poison slowly deals damage over time. Before Witches can call for backup, we suggest defeating them with melee as quickly as possible.

Zombies

Baby Zombie

Significantly smaller than normal Zombies, Baby Zombies are very fast and will deal small amounts of damage at a relatively fast pace. While they may not be deadly by themselves, when dealt with in groups things can quickly take a turn for the worse.

It is best to take these mobs out as fast as possible, with melee being your best option.

Chicken Jockey

As described, the Chicken Jockey is a Baby Zombie riding a Chicken.

This particular mob is very fast and is almost identical to Baby Zombies in terms of defeating them. While the Chicken may be harmless, the Baby Zombie can be deadly when not dealt with.

We suggest using the same strategy as you would when defeating a Baby Zombie.

Husk

Much like normal Zombies, Husk's move just as slow, however, their higher defense makes them harder to defeat. To defeat Husks, use the attack and back up mention that is used when fighting Creepers and Zombies.

Zombie

One of the most common mobs in Minecraft is the Zombie. This slow moving mob is fairly simple to kill. The best method to kill zombies is by launching an attack on the Zombie and then moving back before it can deal damage to you.

While this method can be tedious at times, it is one of the best ways to avoid taking damage when fighting Zombies.

Armored Zombie

Much the same as normal Zombies, Armored Zombies simply have much higher defense and hit much harder. Try using the same method as normal Zombies to take them out effectively.

Skeletons

Skeleton

Skeletons use a bow and arrow to attack and can at times be hard to dodge. We found that skeletons are best attacked with melee, however, range is also very effective when trying to avoid damage.

Armored Skeleton

Much the same as normal Skeletons, Armored Skeletons simply have much higher defense.

Skeleton Vanguard

The Skeleton Vanguard are unique in the fact that they use melee instead of range attacks. These Skeletons use a shield to defend themselves, so in order to defeat them you must break their shield. This is done when launching your first attack.

Due to their long reach - thanks to their Glaive - defeating them without taking damage can sometimes be difficult. We found that ranging them from a far for the first few attacks and then relying on Stun Enhancements to temporarily freeze was great, as it allowed you to melee them without the risk of being hit.

Creepers

Creeper

Just like Minecraft, Creepers will explode when you get too close. Using the attack and back up method is the best way to defeat them when using melee. However, using a bow is a great option for those that don't want to risk getting too close.

Spiders

Cave Spider

Cave Spiders are very similar to normal Spiders, with the only major difference being that they are venomous when bitten. We suggest avoiding damage at all cost, as venom will slowly eat away at your health over time.

Spider

When fighting Spiders, it is best that you continually move around in order to avoid their web throwing attack. These creepy mobs won't hesitate to trap you with their sticky web, however, should you get caught, you will have to wait several seconds before being able to break free.

Redstone

Redstone Cube

Redstone Cube's are summoned by the Redstone Monstrosity. These small redstone cubes will roll towards you, dealing small amounts of damage upon contact.

Other Mobs

Slime

Much like Slime's in Minecraft, this enemy will attack with melee and will break down into three different sizes, splitting into more enemies as you decrease their size.

Wraith

Wraith's use a long range Magic attack that will spawn fire beneath your character and will often teleport around the area as your near them. This fire attack can be deadly, so remember to always move and avoid standing still in the same location.
