Richard L. Healy, P.C., provides legal services to its clients in many areas of Family Law including divorce, child support, custody, visitation, alimony, separation agreements, monetary awards, and property issues including the division of pension funds and retirement accounts. The Firm also provides representation to individuals at Domestic Violence Hearings.

The Firm represents clients involved in Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under the Influence Per Se, Driving While Impaired as well as other jailable offenses such as driving on a suspended and/or revoked license in Frederick , leaving the scene of a property damage accident and/or leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury (hit and run/fleeing and eluding). Mr. Healy also provides representation regularly at Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) Hearings to clients who face the potential loss of their licenses due to points and/or breath test results greater than a .08 or for refusing to take a breath test. Mr. Healy frequently assists clients by working hard to minimize the number of points a client receives on his MVA record and/or by assisting clients in obtaining a restricted license so that they may continue to work. The Firm also works to have clients’ licenses reinstated and will, on an ad hoc basis, represent Frederick clients at Medical Advisory Board (MAB) meetings.

Richard L. Healy, P.C., represents clients charged with misdemeanors and felonies including, but not limited to, assault, battery, theft, Frederick domestic violence, possession of marijuana, possession of controlled dangerous substances, drug distribution, violation of probation, and sexual offenses. Mr. Healy also assists clients who are charged with violating protective orders and other crimes.

The Firm provides legal representation to clients who have suffered serious bodily injury including mental anguish and pain and suffering as a result of an automobile crash, slip and fall accident, or other serious cases involving negligence and/or intentional wrongdoing on the part of another individual and/or business entity. Mr. Healy also assists his clients by working to recover their lost wages and medical expenses. He has 28 years of experience working with insurance companies and claims representatives in order to maximize his clients’ recoveries.

Richard L. Healy, P.C., regularly provides clients with advice concerning the preparation and drafting of Wills and Durable Powers of Attorneys. The Firm also assists clients who desire an Advance HealthCare Directive and/or Living Will. Mr. Healy also regularly assists clients in need of legal advice pertaining to the administration of their loved ones’ estates. He regularly handles both large and small estates.

Over the past 28 years, Richard L. Healy, attorney, has represented juveniles of all ages in the Circuit Court. The charges that juveniles face, in many cases, mirror those received by adults in both the District and Circuit Courts of Maryland. Further, the juvenile charges are similar to those charges outlined in the Criminal Law, Drunk Driving and Serious Traffic Offense sections listed above.

An overview of the possible charges that the Firm handles on behalf of juveniles includes underage drinking, theft, drugs, auto theft, drunk driving, gun possession, concealed weapons, school suspension and expulsion, and sexual offenses.

Juveniles, though young in age, have important constitutional rights just like adults. The Firm handles each juvenile case with care and attention providing each youth charged with competent legal advice, options and defenses in order to safeguard the rights of each individual child.
