These one pan lettuce wraps are a lot like P.F. Chang’s (or Pei Wei lettuce wraps) but are even better enjoyed in sweats and binging Netflix at home!

Crispy lettuce cups filled with Asian seasoned ground chicken, mushrooms, slivered green onions and crispy water chestnuts topped with a spicy hoisin sauce loaded with so much flavor.

Any green leafy lettuce works well for lettuce wraps including:

WHAT’S IN CHICKEN LETTUCE WRAPS?

Ground Chicken Filling:

  • olive oil
  • ground chicken
  • garlic powder
  • salt and black pepper
  • sliced water chestnuts
  • mushrooms
  • green onions
  • cilantro
  • butter lettuce

Ground Chicken Seasoning Sauce:

Topping/Dipping Sauce:

  • hoisin sauce
  • soy sauce
  • honey
  • sriracha

how to make chicken lettuce wraps:

This chicken lettuce wrap recipe comes together quickly and easily in one pan. Here’s all you do:

Add seasoning sauce ingredients (soy sauce, vinegar, hoisin sauce, sriracha and cornstach) to a medium bowl. Whisk to combine then set aside.

Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil into a large skillet over medium to medium-high heat.

Add in the ground chicken then season with salt, pepper and garlic powder, breaking up the chicken as it cooks with a wooden spoon or spatula.

Drop in the diced mushrooms then saute until the chicken is completely cooked through.

Pour the flavorful seasoning sauce over the top, stir to combine then add water chestnuts, sliced green onions and cilantro.

Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes continuing to break up any larger pieces of chicken.

Last blend the ingredients for the topping/dipping sauce in a bowl and you’re ready to assemble.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE CHICKEN LETTUCE WRAPS:

Separate the lettuce leaves then add 2-3 tablespoons of ground chicken filling to individual leaves.

Drizzle the topping over the chicken filling and eat right away.

NOTE: this is a great family style recipe. Add lettuce wraps, chicken filling and topping/dipping sauce to the table and let everyone serve themselves.

VARIATIONS AND SUBS:

  • Brown sugar (same amount) can be used instead of honey
  • Low-sodium soy sauce can be used instead of original.
  • Intead of apound of ground chicken, subground turkey instead.
  • Add other vegetables such as grated carrots, diced bell pepper or zucchini.
  • For extra heat, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Use minced garlic instead of garlic powder.
  • Grate in some fresh ginger.

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounce canned water chestnuts
  • 4 ounces mushrooms chopped
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced on an angle
  • 3 tablespoons cilantro finely chopped
  • 1 head butter lettuce see body of post for lettuce options

Ground Chicken Seasoning Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Topping/Dipping Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  • Add all seasoning sauce ingredients (soy sauce, vinegar, hoisin sauce, sriracha and cornstach) to a medium bowl. Whisk to combine then set aside.

  • Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil into a large skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Add ground chicken and season with salt, pepper and garlic powder, breaking up the chicken as it cooks with a wooden spoon or spatula.

  • Drop in the diced mushrooms and continue cooking until the chicken is cooked through.

Assembling the lettuce wraps:
